Random PIN Generator

Generate a random 4 digit number or random 6 digit number PIN code — the two most common PIN lengths — or pick a custom length. Choose whether repeated digits are allowed, then copy the result with one click.

How it works

Every PIN is generated using your browser's cryptographically secure random number source (the same kind used for passwords and encryption keys), not a weaker general-purpose random function. Pick 4-digit or 6-digit for the two most common PIN lengths, or switch to Custom for anything from 1 to 9 digits.

Repeat numbers, on or off

With repeats allowed (the default), each digit is chosen independently, so a PIN like "1122" or "5555" is just as likely as any other — this matches how most real-world PINs actually work. Turn repeats off and every digit in the PIN is guaranteed unique, drawn from the ten possible digits (0–9) without replacement — useful if you specifically want to avoid an easily-guessed, repeated-digit PIN.

Frequently asked questions

Is 4-digit or 6-digit more secure?

6-digit is more secure purely because there are more possible combinations to guess — a million (000000–999999) versus ten thousand for 4-digit. Many banking apps and phone lock screens have moved to 6-digit PINs for this reason, though 4-digit remains standard for debit cards and many older systems.

Can a PIN start with 0?

Yes. A PIN is a string of digits, not a number, so a leading zero (like "0512") is completely valid and preserved exactly as generated — real-world PINs work the same way.

Why does the custom length only go up to 9?

With "Repeat numbers" turned off, a PIN can only be as long as there are unique digits available — and there are exactly ten possible digits, 0 through 9. Capping the custom length at 9 keeps the "no repeats" option always possible, at any length you choose.
